Who does what in your HLM building?

The OMHM's employees are actively engaged in providing the best possible services to tenants.

Here is an overview of the tasks performed by OMHM employees who are in direct contact with tenants.

Rental agents

Rental agents rent apartments and parking spaces, renew leases, and handle housing changes. They also ensure compliance with building regulations and report directly to the Director of Tenant Services.

Maintenance and repair workers

Maintenance and repair workers maintain and repair the buildings to which they are assigned. They ensure that their building's equipment and hardware works properly and report to the Director of Maintenance and Repairs at their assigned buildings.

Tenant security agents

Tenant security agents work in high-rise buildings with 40 or more units . They provide a physical presence outside office hours and help keep buildings and residents safe. They make two daily inspections of common areas and report to their building's Director of Maintenance and Repairs.

Tenant relations assistant

Tenant relations assistants intercede in OMHM tenant affairs whenever rental agents have been unable to resolve a tenant complaint. These agents work closely with community organizations and social workers and report directly to the Director of Tenant Services.

Community organizers

Community organizers support the creation of tenant associations, give their backing to existing associations and promote the development of social and community intervention within public housing in conjunction with community associations. Community organizers work closely with their Sector Director.

Collection agents

Collection agents collect overdue rent and contact tenants to agree on payment terms for amounts owing. They also represent the OMHM before the Régie du logement or during evictions. Collection agents will, if necessary, direct tenants with specific needs to suitable forms of assistance and report directly to the Director of Tenant Services.
