Who Does What in My Building?
Here is a brief summary of tasks performed by OMHM employee who are in direct contact with tenants.
Rental Agents
Rental agents rent apartments and parking places, renew leases and handle housing changes. They also ensure compliance with building regulations. The agent's immediate supervisor is the Director of Tenant Services.
Maintenance and Repair Workers
Mainenance and repair workers maintain and repair the buildings to which they are assigned. They ensure proper operation of the building's components and facilities. These workers report to the Director of Maintenance of Repairs at their assigned buildings.
Tenant Safety Supervisers
Tenant Safety Supervisers work in residential towers with 40 or more units . They provide a physical presence outside office hours and help keep buildings and residents safe. They make two daily inspections of common areas. These supervisers report to their building's Director of Maintenance and Repair.
Tenant Relations Supervisers
Tenant Relations Supervisers intercede in a situation if Rental Agents have been unable to resolve a tenant complaint. These supervisers work closely with community organizations and social workers. They report to the Direct of Tenant Services.
Community Organizers
Community organizers support the creation of tenant associations, give their backing to existing association and promote the development of social and community actions within social housing in conjunction with community associations. Community Organizers work closely with their Sector Director.
Collection Officers
Collection Officers collect late rent and contact tenants to agree to terms of payment for overdue payments. They also represent the OMHM before the Régie du logement and during evictions. Collection officers will, if necessary, direct tenants with specific needs to suitable forms of assistance. Their immediate superviser is the Director of Tenant Services.
