Thinking green

Because the OMHM and every one of its tenants can make a difference towards sustainable development and protecting the environment.

Sustainable development is:

"Development that meets the needs of existing populations without undermining the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It promotes involvement by all members of society and their participation in the decision-making process."

By adopting a clearly defined sustainable development strategy, the OMHM and its tenants are contributing to economically efficient, socially equitable, and ecologically responsible development.

The OMHM's commitment to sustainable development is not only expressed in a Policy, an Action Plan, and its Sustainable building management program, but through the awareness-building initiatives it undertakes for and with its tenants.

Residents engage in multiple activities, including flower planting, recycling, and water and energy saving projects. The following pages will not only discuss environmental issues, but provide a wide range of advice and information to encourage everyone to think and act green.
