Repairs
The OMHM provides apartments in good condition to its tenants and will make necessary repairs due to normal wear and tear of the equipment and space or because of age.
The OMHM makes repairs in such cases as:
A window screen frayed due to its age.
A lock that fails due to normal wear and tear.
A defective plumbing component.
Tenants must maintain their units and the equipment they contain. Tenants are responsible for making necessary repairs.
Tenants must make repairs in such cases as:
A broken, smashed or pieced screen.
A broken lock.
A smashed door or damaged wall.
Burned out light bulbs.
Non-urgent repairs and maintenance requests are handled within 7 dars. In rare cases, turnaround may take longer, usually due to a backordered part or the need for a specialized firm.
The OMHM will provide urgent repairs. Tenants will be billed, however, if they are responsible for the damage.
What is an "Urgent" Repair?
A repair is urgent if the situation places people or the building's integrity at risk(i.e., smashed door, blocked toilet, or major water damage). Immediately contact the Call Centre under such circumstances at : 514 872-OMHM (6646) . The operation will promptly send a repair person.
Urgent repairs are generally performed within 24 hours.
Pest Control
The OMHM has zero tolerance for cockroaches, bedbugs or vermin (rats or mice) in your apartment!
The OMHM provides new tenants with clean apartments that are free of vermin and pests.
To keep insect pests and vermin from spreading, immediately alert the Call Centre to their presence by calling 514 872-OMHM (6646).
The OMHM provides pest control services at no charge. The success of such efforts depends, however, on tenant cooperation.
Important
The OMHM asks to to act proactively to eliminate insect pests and vermin.
Do not try to solve the problem yourself!
Do not use commercially sold insecticides.
Keep your apartment clean and uncluttered at all times.
Keep your food in sealed containers.
Do not buy used clothing or furniture.
